Archaeology at Bibracte

Workshop and tour of the museum and the site – Duration: 3½ hours
Mint coins, make a fibula (Gallic broach), piece ceramics back together… a whole range of know-how to discover thanks to the practices adopted by archaeologists. Then, with the guide, visit the workshops belonging to the Gallic craftsmen at the archaeological site where these objects were dug up.

Reinvent Bibracte

Visit of the site and of the museum - Duration : 3 hours

Workshop and museum tour - Durée : 2 1/2 hours

The history of a town

Visit of the archaeological site - Duration : 2 hours
Right in the heart of the Morvan Regional Nature Park, on Mount Beuvray, let your imagination run free and follow the flow of history, as told by your guide and, throughout a tour, rediscover how it came to be that the ramparts, houses, craftsmen’s workshops, and the fountain belonging to the Oppidum of Bibracte existed there 2000 years ago.

A tour of the museum, the site and of the research centre - Duration : 5 hours
Having discovered Bibracte Museum and the Celtic world, visit the European Archaeological Centre and see it in operation (a word of advice: it is during the week that you will see the most people working). Lastly, round things off by discovering an outstanding site that combines nature and archaeology.

Tasting ancient-style wines

Duration : 30 mn
Discover the unexpected flavours which will surprise your taste buds and, as a souvenir, take home the little ceramic pot in which you tasted them!
The wines are made by the Burgundy Interprofessional Wines Bureau using recipes from Pliny and Columella, with the assistance of Bibracte’s archaeologists.
