Territoires d'amour et d'art

Wednesday 10 July at 9pm

For several years, director Marie Halopeau filmed Maryvonne Jeanne-Garrault and Jean-Pierre Garrault. The resulting film, Territoires d'Amour et d'Art, delves into the intimate and creative daily lives of these artists, who have been a couple for over fifty years.

Between Burgundy and Brittany, in the heart of their homes, their studios and their territories of inspiration, Maryvonne Jeanne-Garrault and Jean-Pierre Garrault take stock of these years of creation and ask themselves: would an accomplished work be possible or impossible without each other? Different? Did their conception of painting and their working methods partly shape their romantic relationship? Or is it the other way round?

We invite you to a screening of the film and an informal discussion between the public and the artists.

Price: included in museum admission (€7 to €10, free for under-12s)

Show - L'homme tempéré

Wednesday 24 July at 9pm

A reading by Elie Guillou, member of the jury for the Jacques Lacarrière literary prize.

Elie Guillou is a singer, poet, writer and director.

In 2012, Elie Guillou travelled to south-east Turkey to meet the dengbejs, traditional singers. There he discovered the plight of the Kurds, a stateless people whose struggle is being suppressed in bloodshed. On his return to France, he struggled to capture the urgency of the situation. How to bear witness? And how can you live without peace when war exists?

L'homme tempéré explores and questions the relationship between a young man who grew up in a peaceful country and the children, women and men of Kurdistan, whose daily life has been one of war since the beginning of the 20th century. He recounts his anger, his shame at his powerlessness, but also the pain that comes with the test of gentleness.

Audience: adults
Duration: 1 hour
Price: included in museum admission (€10 PT, €7 TR, free for under-12s)
